POOL SHED-containers of liquid chlorine should remain on the concrete floor-
containers of dry chemicals (when present) should remain elevated off of the
floor at least a few inches at all times to prevent potential contact with water
from possible pool filtration equipment leaks, rainwater intrusion, or leaked
liquid chlorine - containers of acid should be stored inside plastic pails as
secondary containment and protection against possible contact with dry pool
chemicals or liquid chlorine - liquid pool shock when/if present should also be
stored inside plastic pails as secondary containment and protection against
possible contact with nearby reactive materials.
LANDSCAPING SHED (wooden and freestanding)-fuels and solvents stored
LANDSCAPING SHED (plastic)- also fuel containers stored although they were
empty.
Fuels that were stored outside in the bucket of a Bobcat skid loader were
moved inside the wooden landscape shed during the inspection. All containers
of toxic or hazardous materials must be stored out of the weather, protected
from vandalism, in properly labeled containers, and inside secondary
containment of HDPE plastic if they are stored filled.
SAFETY DATA SHEETS-The resort is building up their collection of SDS, some
were located online today during the inspection. Health Department
recommends locating all SDS and storing in electronic or paper form and
making them available at all times to all staff that handle toxic or hazardous
materials.
PAINT BRUSHES AND ROLLERS-Oil-based painting is not done. Some latex
paint brushes are thrown out. If latex paint brushes are cleaned if should be
done by putting a minimal amount of water in a bucket, washing the brushes
and absorbing the water by pouring it into the trash. Do not clean brushes by
discharging wash water to the ground or a drain.
The antique outboard motors do not contain fuel or fluids per owner.
