Hazmat Inspection ReportTown of Yarmouth, MA Inspection Report Inspection: Inspection Inspector: Carl Lawson Inspection Date: Aug 13, 2024 Record: Toxic or Hazardous Materials Application #BHHM-23-1891 Location: 300-300 BUCK ISLAND RD, WEST YARMOUTH, MA 02673 Applicant: SARA BAKER-GIRD Hazardous Materials Overall Result: Pass Overall Remarks: POOL SHED- Liquid chlorine is on concrete floor. In the event of a leak, it appears the liquid would only contact the concrete floor and soil. The dry pool chemical containers are all elevated off of the floor on sturdy wooded shelves or wooden table. Be sure to keep the dry chemicals elevated in this matter in case of a chlorine container leak or water leak, either of which could start a reaction with the dry chemicals if there were a crack in a dry pool chemical container. SAFETY DATA SHEETS (SDS)-These are informational documents for each chemical product, and they are unique to each product and manufacturer. Please obtain these for the chemicals stored including, pool, maintenance, fuel and landscape products such as herbicides. You can check for them online or request them from you suppliers. In the future you can request them as you buy new products. Once they are obtained you don't need to request an SDS every time the product is purchased, only if the product changes. WORKSHOP-Gasoline and diesel are stored in approved containers that are kept inside of a flammables cabinet. Five-gallon containers of latex stains should be inside secondary containment unless they are to be used up in the very near future. PAINT BRUSH AND ROLLER CLEANING-No paint brushes or rollers noticed in workshop. If paint brushes are used and cleaned the cleaning should be done by putting a minimal amount of water in a pail, cleaning the brush, and absorbing the water in the trash. Paint brushes should not be cleaned in sinks or washed on the ground. BEHIND WORKSHOP-OK- any vessels that could collect water are either upside down or covered-good-so that standing water will not collect. This guards against mosquito breeding. REAR SHED-Empty gas cans are slated for disposal. OUTSIDE REAR SHED- Propane tank - good - outside for ventilation. Health will check with FD on aerosols.
