OLD KING'S HIGHWAY HISTORIC DISTRICT COMMITTEE
WAIVER OF 45-DAY DETERMINATION
The applicant/applicant's agent understands and agrees that due to the current declared National
and State public health emergencies the determination of our Application for a Certificate of
Appropriateness/Demolition/Exemption may not be made within 45 days of the filing of such
application.
The applicant agrees to extend the time frame within which a determination is to be made as
required by the Old King's Highway Regional Historic District Act.
SECTION 9 -Meetings, Hearings, Time for Making Determinations
"As soon as convenient after such public hearing; but in any event within folly -five (45) days
after the filing of application, or within such f rrther time as the applicant shall allow in writing,
the Committee shall make a determination on the application. "

OPTION 1 - DECKING REMODELING & CABLE RAILING
Scope of Work: Deck Removal and Reconstruction
1. Demolition and Disposal

• Completely remove all existing decking boards, guardrails, keeping the main frame.
• Dispose of all removed materials in accordance with local regulations:
Removing the old decking ensures that any compromised materials are replaced.
Starting with a clean slate allows for a stronger, safer, and more durable deck structure.
2. Frame Construction
• Build a new, robust addition frame to support the deck.

• Frame blocks for all split boards to ensure stability.
• Frame blocks for all posts for proper alignment and load distribution.
• Adjustments as needed to account for irregularities or unique site conditions:
A well-built frame is the backbone of a long-lasting deck.
Frame blocks add strength and stability, preventing issues like sagging or misalignment over
time.

Flash tape extends the life of the frame by preventing water damage, rot, and corrosion, particularly
in areas where fasteners penetrate the wood.
4, Decking Installation
• Install new HARBOR GRAY FROM WOLF,decking boards using hidden composite fasteners for a
seamless appearance.
• Incorporate a picture frame design on the edges for an elegant and finished look.
• Alternatively, install pressure -treated wood decking, depending on client preference:
Hidden fasteners create a clean, polished surface with no visible screws or nails.
A picture frame design enhances aesthetics by defining the edges and reducing wear on the borders.

-The HOMEOWNER agrees to pay the PLj CARPENTRY a total amount mention above for the
Carpentry Services upon completion of the job. An initial payment is due upon signing this
Contract, with the remaining balance to be paid immediately upon satisfactory completion of the
Carpentry Services.
-This change ensures that the payment will be made promptly upon the completion of the
carpentry work. Please remember to consult with a legal professional to ensure that the contract
meets your specific requirements and local regulations.
- Anything not mentioned on work of scope will be charged extra;
- Any verbal agreement that is not included on original scope of work has to be added to a new
contract and signed
TIMING
- Our average starting date for any project is 2 to 4 weeks after the down payment check is
received
- Works with permits involved requires 3 to 6 weeks to be started considering the entire permit
process and different politics from every town
- Any different starting dates from the two items above has to be informed to the costumer and
agreed first
- Any projects that involves special material orders might affect the timeline
- Working time expectations informed on the scope might differ according to weather issues or
for
any special occasion such as workers transportation issue, health problems, holidays and
weekends
DUMSPERS AND DISPOSAL
- Dumpsters has to be placed as soon as work starts
- None personal belongs allowed on dumpsters during working time
- Dumpsters included are just related to the demolition on job site
- Dumpsters has to be removed when the job is done
- All metal wastes has to be collected properly and disposed signing this document, the
customer agrees to the services and conditions outlined in this document.
