Following a discussion with the Building Commissioner, the applicant appeared before the Old
King’s Highway Historic District Committee at its April 14, 2025 hearing, to request a
Certificate of Demolition for a barn located at 169 Route 6A, Yarmouth Port.
At the time of the hearing, the Committee was unaware of the reason why a request for relief
from the Zoning Board of Appeals procedurally follows other Town Boards and Committees.
In addition, the Committee wanted to assess the condition of the barn before making a decision
on the application. The Committee voted to table the application, pending a Site Visit, which has
been scheduled for April 22, 2025.
The Committee is expected to hold a hearing on April 28, 2025 to determine how to proceed
with the application for a Certificate of Demolition.
