Hi Brittany -
Happy New Year - hope its off to a good start.
I am getting back to you about a project at 1129 Great Island Road - this is a vacant woodland lot we'll eventually be proposing construction of a new dwelling. Last fall, it was discovered
that a small pond on the adjacent lot was listed by the Natural Heritage folks as a potential vernal pool. We discussed the fact that the Commission would require the pond to be evaluated
for its viability as a vernal pool as part of the permitting process.
Since we last spoke, the pond has been investigated with respect to whether fish are present, which would preclude the pond from being considered a vernal pool. I have attached a report
detailing our findings.
Once you have had a chance to review the report could you please let me know your thoughts?
