Dear Members of the Old King's Highway Committee,
I am writing about the property of Kelly Mcguill on Center Street in Yarmouthport I am
a neighbor residing at 215 Center St in Yarmouth Port. I know she's applying to
change the roof and the color of the house. I was good friends with the previous
owners, and I am in contact with their son. His recollection is that the house was white
when they bought it, and they decided to paint it yellow. 1 think Hugh put on the
cedar roof and that it was not original to the house.
As a neighbor, I am very happy, as the renovations have beautifully restored the
property and the grounds. It is a magnificent property, but it had been deteriorating
over recent years with the illnesses of the owners. I would like to say that I'm very
much in favor of allowing the house to go back to the original color of white and
allowing the asphalt roofing that many houses have now, or have had in the past.
