Buildings, Numbering of [HISTORY: Adopted by the Annual Town Meeting of the Town of Yarmouth 4-7-1981 by Art. 16.[h]Amendments noted where applicable.] GENERAL REFERENCES Subdivision of land —See Ch. 171. Plot plans —See Ch. 218. [1] Editor's Note: This chapter was derived from Section 11.01 of the Town of Yarmouth Bylaws and was originally adopted 3-10-1964. § 71-1 . Legible number required. Every building in a public place or private way within the Town of Yarmouth shall be provided with a clear and legible street number placed in such manner as to be clearly visible from such ways. § 71-2. Determination of numbers. The Town Engineer shall determine the street numbers to be assigned to all buildings located on public or private ways. § 71-3. Affixing of numbers; time limit. [Amended 4-11-1984 by Art. 35, approved 6-1-1984] All street numbers shall be affixed to the front of the buildings within one year of the effective date of this chapter. All new buildings erected or located in the Town must have street numbers affixed by the date of occupancy. § 71-4. Penalty. [Amended 4-20-1982 by Art. 27, approved 8-10-1982] Any person who fails to comply with the provisions of this chapter or who unlawfully removes, defaces or changes a number affixed to a building under this chapter shall be punished by a fine of not more than $300 for each offense. https://www.ecode360.com/print/YA0698?guid=9083256&children=true 5/22/2019
