BOARD OF APPEALS
We are writing to express our support for the Osprey Nesting Habitat platform/pole that is
located at 40 Crosby Street Extension for more than 25 years. As a neighbor, we have
enjoyed watching the Osprey come back year after year. We have two young children and
they love learning about the eco-system, their habitat and how they grow. It is an amazing
ability we have to have to watch this on a daily basis happening right outside our home.
Pleasant Street has become a hub of walkers, strollers, bikes, families & bird watchers. We
know of bird watchers, who come by foot or by car to see if the birds have made it through
another winter and who hope they have come back to their home on the river. I would hope
that this board understands how important this is and that we, and the community, get the
ability to see this natural wonder for many years to come.
