RE: Cape Sands Inn 151 Main St W Yarmouth—Fire Escape Inspection
Dear Sirs,
I have viewed the site, the second-floor walkways, the railings, and the stairs to the walkways. The
Walkways, railings, and stairs are timber construction. The configuration provides access/egress
from the second-floor units in both buildings. The walkways, stairs, and railings have been
recently repaired. The walkways, stairs, and railings are in good condition and well-constructed.
The walkways/stairs/landing/railing (fire escape) are well designed. It is my opinion that these
access/egress (fire escape)stairs and railings are sound and more than adequate to support the loads
required by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Building Code 780 CMR 10th Edition in effect for fire
escapes/access/egress stair systems.
Kind Regards
Keith Mackenzie-Betty
