Dear Mr. Grylls,
McKenzie Engineering Consultants, Inc. completed an egress inspection of the exterior
egress platforms and stairways for the Liberty Hill Inn located at 77 Route 6A in
Yarmouthport as required by the 9th edition of the Massachusetts Building Code.
The main inn has a steel spiral stair system and a standard steel stair system for egress
from the third floor. We reviewed all elements of this system and we found them to be
. in good condition with no structural issues.
The annex building has two exterior wood framed platforms and stair systems for
second floor egress. We reviewed all the components of these systems and found them
to be well maintained and in good structural condition.
Based on the inspection,we hereby certify that the exterior egress components at the
Liberty Hill Inn are structurally adequate to perform the functions for what they were
designed to in accordance with the standards of public safety at the time of original
construction and in accordance with Section 1001.3.2 of the 9th edition of the
Massachusetts Building Code.
