That way we can provide the Commission with an adequate amount of time to review any revisions to the application made necessary by NHESP comment, as well as our response to your questions detailed below. Please let me know if a formal letter of request for continuance is necessary. While we don’t anticipate needing additional continuances after NHESP’s comments are addressed, we’d like to confirm that this request will not be counted toward our tally of continuances. Hello, I understand we are still waiting for NHESP comment; I only have a couple of comments after reviewing the supplemental material. Will the shoreline vegetation only be monitored to assess Plymouth gentian (annually)? It is noted that water will be "sent to the lab for analysis" as part of monitoring-what will be measured/analyzed? Does CLM have any prior experience managing submerged aquatic invasive plants, aquatic plants in general, or specifically hydrilla? If so, please provide the site information, general project description, and results. Please confirm that you did not end up submitting the revised request to include contact herbicide. Yes, 3 continuances is the maximum for continuance requested by the applicant before a vote will be made, but we would not hold any delays caused by NHESP against you in that regard. At this time, you have requested one continuance and the other two were by caused by the commission/NHESP. He mentioned for our scope that a Chapter 91 license is not required. I will forward you that correspondence in a moment. On another note, does Yarmouth have a limit to how many times a hearing can be continued? We don’t anticipate continuing at this time, yet we are still working with NHESP on determining an appropriate strategy. Hi, I just wanted to remind you that application of herbicides in a great pond also requires a chapter 91 license. Something to consider before you change all of your plans or propose other alternatives in the hopes of treating this summer, since that permitting process also takes some time. Hello, The link below is to an aquatic vegetation management project that is ongoing for invasive and ‘nuisance’ vegetation in a small private pond, but outside of NHESP priority habitat. https://lf.yarmouth.ma.us/WebLink/Browse.aspx?id=1310403&dbid=0&repo=LASERFICHE Regards, Brittany DiRienzo Conservation Administrator Town of Yarmouth bdirienzo@yarmouth.ma.us 508-398-2231 x1288 Conservation Website Sent: Tuesday, June 3, 2025 3:52 PM To: DiRienzo, Brittany <BDiRienzo@yarmouth.ma.us>; Jerolimo, Joseph <JJerolimo@yarmouth.ma.us> Subject: Request for Continuance, Camp Wingate Kirkland (Elisha's Pond) Attention!: This email originates outside of the organization. Dear Conservation Commission and Staff We would like to request a continuance for the invasive plant management at Elisha's Pond hearing while we wait for the letter from NHESP (See attached request letter). We have been in touch with Misty-Anne Marold at NHESP and based on our discussion and the updated materials we sent, expect the response to be favorable, but the determination and exact parameters of the treatment and monitoring won't be issued until later this month, preventing our conservation hearing from being able to close this Thursday. I believe the next available hearing is July 3rd. In the meantime, if you have any remaining questions not answered in the supplemental materials we submitted (May 22), please let us know, so we can prepare answers prior to the next hearing. Best Regards, Angela Tanner
