Dear Mr. Athanas,
Following the November 3,2024 fire at Anthony's Cummaquid Inn,Yarmouth Fire Department Chief Arrascue sent the
attached letter to bring your attention to the hazardous conditions as a result of the attractive nuisances that continue to be
ignored on your property.
While minimal efforts have been made to discourage trespassers from causing further damage,these efforts do not appear
to have much effect. Efforts to board-up the structures and install fencing at the entrance to the property have proven
useless to prevent trespassers from entering the property and causing further damage.
Chief Arrascue has advised that demolition of the structures may be the only way to prevent harm to the public and first
responders should any other events take place.
It is with this letter that I formally request access to the property to allow for a survey of the existing structures and the
access to those structures located in the Town of Yarmouth. The survey team from the town will include myself,a
member of Yarmouth Fire Dept and the representative of Anthony's Cummaquid Inn while conducting this survey.
Please advise when you can have a representative on site to provide access and guide the survey team.
I look forward to this survey taking place within thirty days.If we do not hear from you or if we are unable to work
toward a cooperative solution,we may be compelled to seek the necessary orders to secure the property.
