In 1979 the Town of Yarmouth adopted section 26c ofchapter l4g of the Massachusetts
General Laws. This law mandated the installation of fire alarm systems. It is the responsibility
of the owner to maintain and test these systems as required by section 1200.g.3 ana iz t o.:.2.sof the State Building code. These tests are further required by the code of Massachusetts
Regulations chaptet 527 cMR Section 24.08. PLEASE coMpLETE THE FoLLowNG

SMOKE DETECTORS: Must be tested annually.
IIEAT DETECToRS: Restorable spot type, one detector on each circuit shall be tested semi-annually. Different detector shall be selected for each test.
Non-restorable spot t)?e, after 5'h year, at least two detectors out of every hundred or fractionthereof' shall be removed every 5 years and sent to a nationally recognized testing laboratory fortests. Detectors removed for test shall be replaced with new detectors. If failure -occurs on anyof the detectors removed, additional detectors shall be removed and tested as a further check tocomply with CMR 527 Sec.24.08.
LINE TYPE FIXED TEMPERATURE DETECToRS: Loop resistance semi-annuaily andposted in panel.
PULL STATIONS: All pull stations shall be tested annually.
BATTERY BACK UP: Shall be tested semi-annually.
TROUBLE OVERRIDE TEST: Shall be tested annually.
SPRTNKLER: Shall be tested at main drain semi-annually through to fire department.

All additions or deletions of equipment shall be reported to the fire department immediately
