Subject: Former laundromat in South Yarmouth WARD OF �EA-"S
Zoning Board.
I will not be able to attend the November 13th hearing but have been a resident of Yarmouth for over 30 years and
would like to comment.
I remember this property when it was a busy and successful laundromat for the neighborhood. It has been vacant for
such a long time. I appreciate that the town wants to make better use of the property. There are far too many vacant,
abandoned, and dilapidated buildings and motels throughout our town. (What is being done about them???)
As far as this land on the corner of Pine and route 28, how will a "multistory, multifamily, multiple building apartment
complex" fit there and fit into the town's Comprehensive Longterm Roadmap? The Town of Yarmouth website claims
that it wants to "protect the natural beauty and historic charm" ! I I We already have a massive apartment complex
nearby!
Route 28 in South Yarmouth is already an embarrassment. Please do not build this here. Especially consider the many
requested waivers that will negatively affect the look. (Density, height, building set back limits, trees on lot, etc.)
If we indeed need housing, put it in a less congested area (or possibly on a lot with an already abandoned motel) and
clean up Route 28 as stated in the Comprehensive Plan.
