Project Description The project was approved for invasive species management and ecological restoration. The approved work is divided and managed within 3 zones; Zone 1 includes management of approximately 11,950 sqft of Phragmites, Zone 2 includes management of approximately 3,500 sqft of sporadic Phragmites within marsh vegetation, Zone 3 includes installation of supplemental native plantings within approximately 12,400 sqft of mixed invasive and native upland vegetation. The resource areas present include salt marsh, bordering vegetated wetland, land subject to coastal storm flowage and associated buffer zones. Project Activities Completed during Assessment Period August 19, 2025 – Assessment and treatment of Phragmites September 25, 2025 – Site visit to assess invasive species management October 1, 2025 – Assessment and treatment of Phragmites Assessment of Current Site Conditions At the time of assessment, it was concluded that ongoing maintenance and effective treatment strategies have been mostly successful. No re-sprouting Phragmites (Phragmites australis) were observed in any zones of the project area. This lack of regrowth indicates both effective and successful control of this invasive species. Monitoring of the project area, along with minimal maintenance using effective treatment methods should continue to ensure limited regrowth and spread of Phragmites. Anticipated Activities to be Completed Next Monitoring Period • Continuing maintenance visits to control Phragmites.
