Dear Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals,
am writing in reference to Petition 5200 concerning the property located at 10 & 10A Ruby Street, West Yarmouth, MA.
As Ag neighborhood living across the street on 9 Ruby Street, I would like to express that I have no objection to my
neighbor's request to add a fifth bedroom to the property.
However, I would like to bring to your attention a concern that I hope will be taken into consideration.
During the past summer, the property was rented out to J-1 students - more than 10 occupants living there. The issue
was not the occupancy itself, but rather the frequent noise disturbances.
Almost every night the tenants gathered outside on the front lawn until the late hours and after midnight.
in few occasions I had to go outside and tell them to be quiet. On one occasion there was a large parry of over 20-30
people on the front lawn with loud music and shouting after 10-11 pm which led me to contact the police.
&12 the yard wasn't kept clean and indoor furniture was (still) kept outside. (l attached a photo).
My concern is that the expansion of the property may lead to similar situations in the future if it continues to be used as
a short-term or seasonal rental with a high number of tenants.
I appreciate your attention to this matter and trust that it will be taken into account when reviewing the petition.
