In compliance with DEP file# SE83-2104, we have been hired by Nance
Carbone to help eradicate invasive plant species such as spreading
bamboo. phragmites, wild grapevine and other invasive plants located
behind properties #14 and #20 Kingsbury Way Yarmouth Port.
Annual cutting has proven successful for weakening the growth.
Approximately, 90% of the bamboo has been successfully eliminated.
The phragmite grove is too extensive to cut annually and therefore has not
been successfully controlled. Wild grapevine and other invasive plants
have been weakened with continued cutting.
Planting of native species would assist in further growth of invasives.
However, controlling the wildlife from eating the tender plants has been
difficult.
