Dan mentioned that they are requesting a variance from the current bylaw to reduce the rear property line setback from 20 feet to 10 feet. This adjustment will allow adequate space for safe access —such as for a stretcher or ladder —to ensure proper emergency response if ever needed. As an abutter to the rear property line, I would like to confirm that we have no objection to this request providing that the construction design for the pool considers the downward grade to the lower elevation of our property relative to the Girard's property. We want to be comfortable there are proper controls around any drainage and backwash activities such that there is a safeguard against pool water encroaching on our property.
