Elliott, Inspector of Wires kelliottfdtvarmouth.ma.us August 6,2013 1445 Hrs. Cape Cod Air Grills On this date and at this time I was requested to respond to the fire location at 14 Atlantic Avenue, South Yarmouth. Jim Brandolini and I responded from the town hall. Upon arrival we reported to Captain Sawyer and were briefed on what had happened. I checked all ofthe electrical panels and found no circuit breakers in a tripped condition. Most ofthe circuit breakers, in all panels, were turned offprior to my arrival. I observed the wiring' in the area ofthe fire, and requested that the owner contact an electrician right away and have the equipment and wiring in that area checked and tested with the results submitted to my office prior to re-energizing the circuits. I did not find any electrical cause for the ignition and lire at this location. The motor and wiring on the exterior dust collector were damaged by the fire. It is the belief, of this inspector, that the cause and origin ofthe fire was when one ofthe milling machines bound up and the work piece started to smolder that the embers were sucked through the dust connection system and ignited the exterior collection ofdust. In discussion, with the owner, he stated that he cleaned up the work area' on the milling machine, with a portable canister vacuum and then empted the contents in the dumpster.
