Dear Dr . Boyd,
In regard to your inquiries on the environmental aspects of
installing a Konica QX-60A automatic film processor , the
following is the pertinent information:
1 . All chemistry , developer and fixer , is collected in
specially designed containers . This used chemistry
is then transported to Solutek in Roxbury, MA where
it is treated and disposed of in accordance with the
standards of the DEQE . No chemical discharge lines
are run into your drains.
2 . The Konica QX-60A is U. L Approved. It operates on
110U.
3. All processors require developer, fixer and wash
(water) . The Konica processor is the only processor
that comes set up to collect the developer, as well
as , the fixer . Almost all other units run their
developer waste down their drain, on site . The
Konica processor is the most environmentally sound.
4. Some of the Konica QX-60A processors in your area
are : Great Marsh Chiropractic , W. Barnstable ; Lewis
Bay Chiropractic, Hyannis; Barnstable Family
Chiropractic , Centerville ; Bourne Health Care,
Bourne; and Dr . James Adams, Plymouth. In S.
Yarmouth we service Mid-Cape Medical Center which has
a different brand of automatic processor. They have
a standard hook-up . To sum up , wherever there is an
x-ray unit ; there is a developing system.
