Dear Bruce:
It was a pleasure meeting with the Board members and you
on January 25 . At this date I have completed the revisions
on this facility as the Board has required. The X-ray
developing machine is completely self-contained, with
all chemicals and water being discharged into five gallon
containers which are removed by the monthly service
representative from the Alliance Imaging Co. Enclosed is
a letter to thjs effect.
Regarding the lab, you will also find enclosed a letter
from Bioran Laboratories which confirms that they are
indeed removing needles , syringes , and vials in a container
for proper disposal . I have been in touch with an off-Cape
facility which is a subsidiary of Browning Ferris Industries ,
and they will remove any laboratory chemicals , dirty dressings ,
and other materials from this facility which are inappropriate
for disposal in the local dump. I do not have a letter from
the representative to this effect, despite the fact that he
stated he would mail me one two weeks ago. However, they will
be doing monthly pickups starting soon and I have diverted
one sink to keep chemicals from going into the septic system.
I invite you or any member of the Board to come by the facility
and verify that these measures have been taken.
Again, my thanks to the Board members for their cooperation in
helping me to establish this facility. I hope that the towns-
people can appreciate that the members of this Board are working
diligently to protect the Town' s resources .
