Hi Kathryn
Sorry it took me so long to email you, we received your certified letter Friday July 28th. The kayaks are not ours. Our
neighbor across the street has been keeping them there every summer (10-11 weeks) since we purchased the property
in 2010. They are older and it is a lot of effort for them to carry them to the beach.
Last Saturday I went to 31 Powers; I explained to them that I received a letter and subsequently helped them remove
them from the dune.
I do, however, disagree with your assessment that we violated any law or ordinance by keeping them there. It is my
opinion that you are putting an undue hardship on them by asking us to move the kayaks off the dune to a spot within
the reach of the typical high tide. Fortunately, this summer, the high tide is currently 50 feet from the dunes so it isn't a
big deal - although we are slightly worried that a weekly renter will think they have been abandoned on the beach and
take them...
