RE: Letter of Support for Sea Wall Repair at 10 Surfside Terrace
Dear Members of the Conservation Commission,
As an immediate abutter along Bass River, at 30 Homer Avenue, I am writing to express my
support for the proposed repair of the sea wall located at 10 Surfside Terrace, replacing the
current wood bulkhead with a corrugated vinyl bulkhead and raising it by one (1) foot.
Given rising tides, stronger storm surges, and ongoing shoreline erosion, replacing and raising
the sea wall is a necessary, proactive measure.
I urge the Commission to grant the necessary permits for this repair. Approving this measured
elevation increase now will safeguard both the natural environment and the community’s long-
term resilience to storms and sea-level rise. In addition, it will reduce the need for emergency
interventions in the future.
