THE SCOPE OF WORK CONSISTS OF RECONSTRUCTING AND EXISTING PERMITTED AND LICENSED BULKHEADS IN THE SAME LOCATION, BUT RAISED UP TO MATCH
•
THE ADJACENT BULKHEAD TO THE EAST AT ELEVATION 5.9' (CAP ELEVATION).
3.
THE RETURNS ON BOTH ENDS OF THE WALL SHALL EXTEND LANDWARD UNTIL IT MEETS ELEVATION 5.9' AND SHALL CONTAIN ANY FLOOD WATERS ON THE
APPLICANT'S PROPERTY.
4.
APPROXIMATELY 13f CUBIC YARDS OF CLEAN FILL SHALL BE BROUGHT ONTO THE SITE TO RAISE THE GRADES BEHIND THE BULKHEAD ALONG THE RIVER SIDE
ONLY AND ACCORDING TO THE PLAN. ALL SOIL SHALL BE COMPACTED IN LIFTS.
5.
CONSTRUCTION ACCESS SHALL BE FROM THE APPLICANT'S PROPERTY OR FROM A WORKING BARGE. EQUIPMENT SHALL BE STORED ON THE APPLICANT'S
PROPERTY OR THE WORKING BARGE WHEN NOT IN USE. WORKING BARGE TO BE ANCHORED TO AVOID BOTTOMING OUT DURING PERIODS OF LOW TIDE.
6.
THE WORK ACTIVITY SHALL OCCUPY A MINIMUM AREA TO ACCOMPLISH THE INSTALLATION OF THE BULKHEAD. EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS HANDLING SHALL BE
IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE WORK PROTOCOL SUBMITTED WITH THE NOTICE OF INTENT, THE RESULTING ORDER OF CONDITIONS AND AS DIRECTED BY THE
YARMOUTH CONSERVATION AUTHORITIES.
7.
ALL AREAS DISTURBED DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE RETURNED TO THEIR PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONDITION, ALL WORK SHALL BE INSPECTED BY
SHOREFRONT CONSULTING AND RECEIVE APPROVAL BEFORE REMOVING EQUIPMENT FROM THE SITE.
8.
THE ACCESS ROUTE AND WORK SITE SHALL BE CLEANED AND RESTORED TO RESEMBLE THE PRE -CONSTRUCTION CONDITIONS.
9.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL OBTAIN A COPY OF THE ORDER OF CONDITIONS ISSUED FOR THE PROJECT BY THE YARMOUTH CONSERVATION COMMISSION PRIOR TO
THE START OF ANY WORK.
10.
ANY TIMBER USED IN THE WATER SHALL NOT BE CCA PRESSURE TREATED. ALL HARDWARE SHALL BE GALVANIZED OR STAINLESS STEEL, UNLESS OTHERWISE
APPROVED BY OWNER OR SHOREFRONT CONSULTING.

ANY DEBRIS OR MATERIAL THAT ENTERS THE WATER DURING CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE REMOVED IMMEDIATELY.

FOR SECTION A -A IN THE CANAL, REFER TO STRUCTURAL DRAWING ENTITLED "PLAN SHOWING 10' ENGINEERED VINYL BULKHEAD", BY SHOREFRONT

CONSULTING, AND STAMPED BY MARK MCKENZIE, P.E., DATED 12/12/12 FOR BULKHEAD DETAILS. THE CL9900 SHEETING SHALL BE UTILIZED TO REPLACE THE
CL9000 MATERIAL WHICH IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE. THE CL9900 HAS A SECTION MODULUS OF 20 WHERE THE CL9000 HAD A SECTION MODULUS OF 16.4;
THEREFORE, THE CL9900 IS A SUITABLE REPLACEMENT AND SHALL BE USED.

THE BULKEHAD ALONG THE CANAL SHALL BE RAISED TO ELEVATION 5.9, AND RELOCATED LANDWARD TO MATCH THE EXISTING ADJACENT WALL TO THE EAST.

FOR SECTION B-B IN THE RIVER, REFER TO STRUCTURAL DRAWING ENTITLED "PLAN SHOWING 12' ENGINEERED VINYL BULKHEAD", BY SHOREFRONT CONSULTING,
AND STAMPED BY MARK MCKENZIE, P.E., DATED 2-22-2022 FOR BULKHEAD DETAILS. THE SHEETING SHALL BE 20 FEET LONG INSTEAD OF THE REQUIRED 18

FEET, EXCEEDING THE DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS.
15.
THE WALL ALONG THE RIVER SHALL BE RECONSTRUCTED DIRECTLY IN FRONT (SEAWARD) OF THE EXISTING WALL TO AVOID CATASTROPHIC FAILURE AND
SEDIMENTATION INTO THE RIVER. THE EXISTING STONES FRONTING THE WALL SHALL BE REMOVED ONLY AS NEEDED TO ALLOW THE INSTALLATION. THE WALL
SHALL BE INSTALLED WITHOUT TOUCHING THE FRONTING SALT MARSH.
16.
THERE SHALL BE 6 INCHES OF CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE GRADE DIRECTLY BEHIND THE BULKHEAD AND THE TOP OF THE SHEETING. THIS PUTS THE CAP
HEIGHT APPROXIMATELY 1.5 INCHES HIGHER THAN THE SHEETING.
17.
THE EXITING ROCKS BETWEEN THE FLOAT AND THE EXISTING BULKHEAD SHALL BE REMOVED. THE FLOAT CAN BE MOVED LANDWARD AT THE APPLICANT'S
OPTION, AND ONLY FAR ENOUGH TO MAINTAIN 3 FEET OF CLEARANCE AT LOW TIDE.
