A representative from the Solar Installer performed a post installation site visit and provided post
installation photos for the above referenced solar panel installation to me for review. I prepared a
structural assessment of the roof framing for the proposed solar panel installation, along with
calculations determining the adequacy of the support to roof connections for this system and
identified the maximum spacing of the support points. The provided post-construction
photographs show panel support locations and spacing which conform to that used in preparation
of our structural assessment report dated . Acceptable minor changes to the layout
include panel position, support spacing less than or equal to 48 inches,and/or additions or
deletions of panels at roof locations. Additionally, the structural report had requested that collar
ties or knee walls be added to the structure to adequately support the roof,and those have also been
added as indicated in the report.
Based upon review of the post installation site visit documents, I certify that the solar panel
installation for this roof was installed in conformance with my structural assessment report, and
the plans accompanying that report,originally prepared by the Plan Preparer,which were reviewed
/signed/sealed by the undersigned.
This certification is based on the 2015 International Building Code including MA wind/snow
amendment and the 780 CMR: MA IBC Wind Amendment for wind and snow loads,
professional engineering assessment and judgment and pe ains to the panel support
attachments to the roof framing and any roof framing upgra.,=, . t not to the engineered
