The following is a summary of transpor"tation and traffic information provided by j.M. O'REILLY & ASSOCIATES, lNC.
for the 6-lot single-family residential subdivision at the above-referenced address. The developn-rent will consist of
six proposed single-famiiy affordable residential homes.
The proposed deveiopment will be accessed from Wood Road via Uncle Charlie's Path, a proposed 200-foot long,
2O-foot wide, paved private way. Each of the six properties'driveways wiil be on Uncle Chariie's Fath.
Sieht Distance;
The speed limit is 25 mph along the section of Main Street that fronts the property. The AASHTCi formula for required
approach Stopping Sight Distance (SSD) = 1.47(VXt) + 1.O75(V2/a), where V=85th percentile speed, t=2"5 sec and
a=t1,.2 ft/sec2. lnstead of the 85th percentile speed, the highest speed limit was used (25 mph) in order to determine
a conservative SSD estimate. Using V=25 mph, the project's SSD=152 ft.
Sight distance for the proposed roadway entrance was measured approximateiy via G!S mapping information.
Northerly sight dlstance along Wood Road from the entrance to Uncle Charlie's Path was measured to be at least
450 ft. Southerly sight distance along Wood Road from the entrance to Uncle Charlie's Path was measured to be at
least 230 ft. The sight distances provided are both greater than the 152 ft calculated 5SD for the intersection
approach, which represents the mininnum distance required for safe stopping.
Trip Generation:
Average Daily Vehicle Trips and Peak Hour Trips for the project are calculated using data published by the !nstitute
of Transportation Engineers (lTE) Irip Generation Manual, 1Lt'Edition. The ITE Land Lise Code (LUC) for the project
is (210) Single-Family Detached Housing. As shown in the Table, the development is expected to generate
approximately 4 trips (1 entering / 3 exiting) during the weekday morning peak hour, 6 trips (4 entering / 2 exiting)
during the weekday evening peak hour, 6 trips (3 entering / 3 exiting) during Saturday peak hours and 5 trips (3
entering / 2 exiting) during Sunday peak hours.
