Storm Update: Despite the blizzard that occurred on February 23, there was no damage to our southeast coastline. Southerly sustained winds of 25–35 mph, with gusts exceeding 50 mph during the overnight hours of March 16, resulted in the partial exposure of four sandbags along the causeway. Using only hand tools, our maintenance team re-covered these bags during the week of March 29. See attached for photos. On June 18, 2026, we experienced sustained southerly winds of 24 mph, with gusts reaching 41 mph. This storm resulted in the partial exposure of approximately 12 sandbags (see attached photo). Similar to the event at this time last year, we will be requesting permission from the Yarmouth Conservation Commission and Mass Audubon to re-cover these bags during a Time of Year (TOY) restriction period. Beach Grass: In April we received permission from the Yarmouth Conservation Commission and Mass Audubon to plant 60 bundles of beach grass on top of the existing sandbags. Visual Inspection Report Other than mentioned above, all sandbags and coir rolls were inspected weekly and remain covered. Photos: See attached.
