Re: Farm & Stable Permit Application (88-100 Mill Lane)
My name is Lisa Weekes. I am not a direct abutter to this property but, I live nearby and I walk past
several times a day with my dog. I also swim and paddle board in these waters like others.
While I do understand the concerns raised by the opponents the discussion has become very
contentious and it is not may to give a different point of view. Still, if this pemrit were not approved,
I would regret not giving my opinion. I want the Board to know that there are other neighbors who
support this project and see the value in a small commercial, well -kept farts.
One note is that a may help'rf the applicants explain how the baby goat kidding and selling will work
Clarifying the approximate number of kids expected each year and how they will be responsibly
rehomed may help people understand that the scale of animal activity is far smaller and more
controlled than what some fear. From what I understand, this is not a planned large-scale goat
breeding facility.
I have met the applicants/owners, Natasha and Oliver Brahms-L They are thoughtful, responsible
people who care deeply about doing this the right way. They have demonstrated a clear
commitment to operating a clean, organized and professionally managed farm. They will live onsite
and they have the experience to run it correctly and the desire to maintain it with very high
standards.
I feel that this farm aligns with the character of the area and fits the landscape far better than many
other potential uses. I truly believe it will add charts, life and additional beauty rather than noise,
disruption and health implications.
This farm is a wonderful opportunity for Yarmouth to support responsible land use, agriculture and
stewardship of open space. I find this project worthy of approval and hope the Farm & Stable Permit
will be allowed to move forward
