Check for code compliance regarding adequate natural light and ventilation for the building if you are  eliminating the small windows in the rear.    2. Check code requirements that may allow for the small window on the west elevation to be a regular window  and not fire‐rated, as it sounds like some small areas might be allowed by code.  3. The double faux windows in the front of the west elevation do not need to be fire rated windows themselves if  you are providing the appropriate fire rated sheetrock on the inside to cover the faux windows.  From the  outside it would look like a frosted window and replicate the existing window in this area, without the added  cost of a fire rated window.    Personally, I would be okay with the change in the front door style and elimination of the small window in the rear of  the west elevation, if the faux window on the west elevation remained.  I can’t believe there is any significant cost  savings to the removal of the two non‐fire rated windows on the east elevation and would like to see them  remain.  Depending on the ultimate changes you are proposing after you have reviewed the above comments, these  changes would need to be run by the Design Review committee to see if they feel these changes are not significant or  would warrant another meeting.    Mark – please feel free to provide additional input .    Thanks,  Kathy    ---------------------------------------- Kathy Williams, PE Yarmouth Town Planner 1146 Route 28 South Yarmouth, MA 02664-4492 (508) 398-2231 Ext 1276 kwilliams@yarmouth.ma.us   From: Jean Bowden [mailto:bowdenfam@comcast.net] Sent: Tuesday, March 10, 2015 5:01 PM To: Williams, Kathleen Cc: Betsy Laughton; tomjr@capizzihome.com Subject: Design Dios project needs to change some items   Dear Kathy  How are you.  RE:1361 Bridge Street Bass River  The customer needs to eliminate some of the windows due to the cost that was due to the Fire Blocking and rating  2 and the fact she has to put in  a septic system and also remove the lot line on the parking lot side  The fire rated walls and windows are so unbelievably expensive   what sort of procedure/forms to present is required to modify based on this issue.  We want to her be able to do this lovely building .  Jean Bowden  Capizzi Home Improvement
