The architectural style of the project is meant to match the existing fabric of Yarmouth and to appear as though it had been there for years. As part of this we are choosing materials and colors that are common in Cape Cod and that blend in rather than stand out. The following product cut sheets are what we are proposing to use for the project. These products are meant to last for many years with little to no maintenance so that the project 10 years from now looks as good as it does on opening day. The material board photograph below which was presented to you on the 14th is below. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our office. To get you started, we cover the basics below. Cellwood offers a variety of distinct siding profiles and colors. Profile and color can complement architectural design, change the mood, emphasize and even change the perception of the size of a home. If you’re looking to make a change, here are some ideas to consider: Double 4" / Double 5" / Triple 3" These profiles recreate the look of traditional clapboard siding. They’re the most popular profiles because they produce a classic look compatible with almost any architectural style. Dutch Lap Dutch Lap has strong shadow lines and is a popular alternative to standard clapboard profiles. The distinctive beveled panel design dates back to homes built by Dutch settlers on the eastern seaboard. Beaded With a rounded bead at the bottom of each panel, this profile creates deep shadow lines. Each course (or row) recreates the look of a wide beaded clapboard. Originating in the Southern United States, this profile is an excellent choice for Georgian, Federal and other Colonial styles. Board & Batten Seen from seaside villages to mountain retreats, this rustic style works well as an accent or on the entire home. It’s used to accent gables, dormers or to break up large areas of horizontal siding. It’s also a popular choice for homes with steeply pitched roofs such as Shed, Folk Victorian and French Country styles. Shingle, Shake and Round-Cut Siding These profiles are molded from cedar shingles and have a rough texture suited to Cape Cod or Craftsman styles. They’re often used as an accent to highlight gables. The Round Cut is particularly suited to Victorian styles where a gingerbread house effect is desirable. Winestone Autumn Tan White A C C E NT C O L O R Blue Pewter White Spanish Moss Sand Beige Bolder colors give your home a lively, more dramatic appearance. Softer, subdued tones create a more restful setting. To make a smaller home appear larger, use light, coordinating colors of similar intensities. To make a larger home appear less massive, use dark, contrasting colors. Contrasting colors (opposites on the color wheel) make a home with simple, straight lines more eye-catching. Small homes look better with fewer colors. Larger, more ornate homes can handle a main color plus several accents. Consider your home’s orientation to the sun and shade. Colors look brighter under the glare of sun and darker in shade. Color is personal so choose a palette that makes you happy and reflects your personality. Nevertheless, common sense dictates that builders and suppliers of vinyl products store, handle and install vinyl materials in a manner that avoids damage to the product and/or structure. Owners and installers should take a few simple steps to protect vinyl building materials from fire. To Home and Building Owners Rigid vinyl siding is made from organic materials and will melt or burn when exposed to a significant source of flame or heat. Building owners, occupants, and outside maintenance personnel should always take normal precautions to keep sources of fire such as barbecues and combustible materials such as dry leaves, mulch, and trash away from vinyl siding. To the Building Trades, Specifiers, Professionals and Do-It-Yourselfers When rigid vinyl siding is exposed to significant heat or flames the vinyl will soften, sag, melt, or burn, and may thereby expose material underneath. Care must be exercised when selecting underlayment materials because many underlayment materials are made from organic materials that are combustible. You should ascertain the fire properties of underlayment materials prior to installation. All building materials should be installed in accordance with local, state and federal building code and fire regulations. Kawneer continues to set the standard in thermal performance with its innovative AA®250 and AA®425 Thermal Entrance Doors. In conjunction with Kawneer’s high-performing frame, the doors offer improved thermal efficiency compared to a standard door. By combining critical elements within the product design, the AA®250 and AA®425 Thermal Entrance Doors create a superior thermal roadblock. The thermal roadblock formula includes thermal breaks in the door, door frame and threshold that isolate the interior metal components from the exterior metal components; a door rail and stile design with a double air cavity provides an added layer to the thermal barrier; and dual weathering around the perimeter of the door in conjunction with a low conductance polymer door stop minimizes air infiltration. *LEED is a registered trademark of the U.S. Green Building Council. The benefits of Kawneer’s AA®250 and AA®425 Thermal Entrance Doors extend beyond industry-leading thermal performance. The company has introduced design flexibility in hardware options and injected value to support virtually any budget. Advanced thermally broken systems allow building owners to take advantage of tax incentive programs and green building certifications such as Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®)*. And, with its proven performance and welded corner construction, Kawneer’s AA®250 and AA®425 Thermal Entrance Doors are the ideal choice for any commercial or institutional application. Performance To achieve new heights of thermal performance, Kawneer pulled out all the stops in engineering the AA®250 and AA®425 doors. In addition to thermal breaks, Kawneer has added its proven corner construction, which has four Sigma deep penetration and fillet welds, plus mechanical fastening at each corner. The immediate door frame jambs and transom bar/door header tout a dual perimeter weather seal featuring Kawneer’s Sealair bulb weathering. Also featured is a triple-finned, soft pile weather stripping that minimizes airflow around the perimeter edge of the door. At the bottom of the door, the combination of a thermally broken threshold and dual bottom door sweeps minimizes air infiltration. All of this adds up to a superior thermal roadblock that provides improved comfort and savings in heating and cooling costs. The AA®250 and AA®425 accommodate 1" insulating glass and insulating laminated glass to improve thermal and sound reduction performance. Laminated glass enhances STC and OITC (sound resistance) performance as well as improves occupant safety. Kawneer’s thermal entrance doors have been tested and proven in accordance with North American performance standards for air, structural, condensation, thermal and sound transmission. Aesthetics Breaking from tradition, Kawneer’s AA®250 and AA®425 deliver a new aesthetic look with a 2-1/2" narrow stile and a 4-1/4" wide stile, respectively. To meet aesthetic and hardware application requirements, the entrances are also offered with a range of top and bottom rails. Horizontal mid-rails are available in 1-3/8" (34.9 mm) and 8-1/4" (209.6 mm) sizes. In addition, a 10" bottom rail option can be specified. The 2-1/4" (57.2 mm) depth door uses a 14 mm polyamide strut thermal break that accommodates a dual finish as well as various combinations of hinging and locking hardware. These include offset pivots, butt hinges, continuous gear hinges, MS locking, concealed vertical rod exit devices and rim exit devices.
