Kathleen, thank-you very much for information, many neighbors including myself are very concerned
about Sepnesset village. Please let know about any meetings that are coming up so we may attend. Donna

Hello,
There are no back exits from most of the units, but there are three covered walkways where the
rear yard can be accessed. They are also making improvements to the rear yard and adding grills
and playground area. The number of occupants per unit will be decided by the health department
in the rental certificates and will be based on bedroom size. Children would be allowed.
Thanks for the input.

I agree with all the points which Chris made but again no AC means occupants are sitting
outdoor half dressed. Also, are children going to be allowed and how many are allowed per
unit? Again no back exit, no back yard with only a parking lot on a busy corner for children
to play.

Kathy-
These points represent our (Paul and I) thoughts as we have had a chance to
think about what we heard while attending your meeting and also to start
speaking with others about this project. And as we have kept stating we want
to see something done about this blighted area but we have questions about
what and how it will be done, such as:.
We believe that 250 square feet to live in with minimal improvement to it
other than a motel room with added kitchen equipment is a significant issue
as we watched people "live" in the motel this summer. In the heat (and the
"apartments" have no intent of adding AC unless the tenant can make a unit
fit in an existing window) the residents spent this summer sitting on the front
steps in front of their doors or putting chairs in the parking lot to sit, talk,
smoke and on occasion use laptops .
The proposal to leave all bathrooms as shower only means that anyone with
children will need to bath them in the kitchen sink (whatever size 250 sq feet
will allow).
The safety of the units for apartment housing with just one door as egress,
especially the tiny ones on some of the units is of concern.
We also would like to know what occupancy number is allowed for such
small units, and how will it be monitored.
And the plan to change so little of the exterior appearance in an area where
the town is attempting to improve the Gateway to Yarmouth is in stark
contrast to companies such as the Wind Drift and Hampton Inns who have
gone out of their way to improve and maintain their properties.
We are very concerned about the septic system and it's capacity for use given
it has been minimally used for a number of years now.

So these are our preliminary thoughts, and I think the others on this mailing
may feel the same, or have even other issues to add to the questions and
concerns about this approval. They will also be contacting you I am sure if I
haven't captured all of the concerns.
We would like to have any Board or group that will be discussing this made
aware that we want to be invited to observe, or participate as appropriate, as
this goes forward at Town Hall. You had mentioned others besides the
Planning Board who would be discussing this, such as the Community
Housing Committee, and we would want to attend those meetings also.
Hope this helps to clarify some of our significant concerns at this time.
Chris

Hi Chris,
I will let you know when the Public Hearing is scheduled with the Planning Board. It
may be helpful to have in writing what some of your concerns are. Although you
mentioned a few at Design Review, I was not under the impression that you had
serious concerns about this project.
Thanks,
Kathy

Kathy,

The HPCA had an opportunity to meet today and talk about the
proposal that Susan, Paul and I heard on August 25th. We continue to
want to be very involved as the approval process proceeds. We would
like to be informed of any and all meetings about it. We remain
committed to supporting affordable housing, but have serious
concerns about the
quality of life issues for the residents with the design presented.
Could you please add the names cited in the cc above to the mailing
list for any discussions, reviews or hearings?
Thanks,
Chris Greeley
