Car 59 First on scene, reports active Fire in the home and requests working Fire assignment. Lt 45 ordered to make interior attack with 1 3/4 tine through side A front door. E 45 crew forced en!ry, high contents at the front door detayed entry. Nozzteman used lransitional attack through side A before entry. Tower 41 on scene, directed to ge! back up line to side A, assis! E45 crew, and primary search of top ftoor of residence. Atso threw ground tadders !o side A. Hyannis E2 on scene, crew to bottom tloor of sptit leveI for primary search and to check for extension. Ambulance 54 crew to Side A, primary RlT. Mal! Bearse I arrived on scene as the fire was extinguished. I began the investigation after speaking with the IOC Chief Arrascue. I began with photos, working from the ouEside, moving inside. I determined the fire originated in the living room towards the tront of lhe house. I was unabte to deEermine an exact heat source or the material tirst burned. The home is a sptit level ranch, with a person tiving in the lower half. The upper hatf is owner occupied, but has been vacant since November, according to neighbors. The lower occupied tevelwas not occupied at the time of the tire. I spoke to the neighbor at 61 Broadway (lsabelle Bett 203434-9716) lsabette stated she had noticed a power company buckel truck in front of her house at 5:30 this morning. She states that her power was restored ctose to 5am that day, and immediatety lsabelte noticed a probtem wilhin her home that some electronics were working and some were not. lsabette catted Robies heating and cooling company concerned her new furnace was nol working which had been instatted by Robies over a year ago. lsabelle stated to me that an electrician arrived at her house around 8:30 this morning and found that she had only 70% of the eteclricily at the panel, the etectrician secured the main breaker and stated he would have to return [ater with another electrician to tind the issue. lsabette stated she noticed some burning odor in her home in the area of her staircase, white waiting for the etectrician. lsabelle dectined lo have the tire department invesligate the odor, since it was no longer there. Based on lhe prior issues in the area yesterday due to the snow storm, and again this morning, the most [ikely cause oF the eleclricat matfunclion is a energized neutraI tine inLo the home. Which tikety contributed to lhe cause ot lhe fire al67 Broadway St. I witl have some follow up questions for the owners when i make contact tater today. I spoke to the Owner Grig, who informed me that the peopte living downstairs had left lhat morning oF lhe fire, just prior to the power being restored. Dennis and Carolina, are the 2 peopte tiving downstairs. I am hoping to speak with them, sometime over the next coupte days. The owner stated they do not need any assistance from the red cross for housing. Unabte to make contact with downslairs occupants. 2/21/24 -------Li. Malt Bearse E-45 First arriving engine On arrivat C-51 atready had command. Fire was on second floor had seltvenLed ouE picture window on Atpha side. The residence was a sptit tevet- Forced entry into Front door with some difficutty due to shelving and debris behind the door which hindered the door from opening more than a Few inches. Stream trom 1-3/4 directed into lhe opening and iniliatFire kno*ed down. The door was removed in order lo gain access. With door removed hose line was advanced to second ftoor, remainder of fire knocked down and primary search conducted of second ftoor. E-43 Arrived with catl back personnet and was assigned RlT. Stayed For overhautand worked with LT.Bearse for investigation and Finatcootdown.
