FF Kobza to assist Capt. Armstrong with investigation, aided by Etectrical lnsp. Ettiot. As noted above, aFtected unit remained energized during initiaI tire attack untit power secured at unit panel by Lt. Reardon noting at[ breakers prior to shutting them oFF due to absence oF master breaker. lt was noLed that breaker #20 (living room) was the onty breaker tripped. Exterior fire adjacent to enclosed utilities paneI containing electric me!ers for Bld9. '11\'s units - noted ri9ht, bottom two meters\ master breakers were in the off/tripped position with other meters seemingty operationat. t shoutd be noted, no obvious signs of fire/heat impingement to enctosed utitities/meters, nor any other obvious signs of damage present. Occupant of neighboring btd9. (unabte to obtain info) reporting "Futter Etectric has been working here since we lost power during the snowstorm two weeks prior to incident." Signiticant fire damage noted to exterior C and D sides, stemming from smalloutside, attached slorage space/shed{ike enctosure containing bikes, toots, paint cans, and other cans/containers damaged by tire beyond identification. lnterior Fire damage noted inside C and D watts of aFtected unit, as wet[ as into the attic space. Fire patterns consistent with fire spread trom exterior slorage space and into the eves and attic above unit. Marked V pattern noted from storage space with heaviest char at the base of D side exterior watt, extending outward and upward to above noled atFected areas. Phoios taken in conjunction with excavation/de-tayering of exterior storage space (mos![y consumed by fire), finding nothing suspicious upon initiat exam of area of origin. I was catted to invesligate the origin and cause of a buitding fire located at 481 Buck lstand (Buck lstand Condos) Unit 1 1F. Upon tocation Town wiring lnspector Ken Ettiot and Firefighter Chris Kobza. Fire damage appeared to be [imi[ed to the end Unit, 1 1F with smoke damage to the neighboring unit. I systematicatty surveyed the Fire buitding from leasl damage Eo most damage. Based on depth of char and V patterns, determined !hat the area of origin was exlerior atLached enclosed sLorage area (side D). Fire appeared to begin inside attached storage shed tike structure. Storage shed approximately six foot by four toot and four feet high. The fire had burned oft the tid of the storage unit and extended up the exterior of the watt and into the altic. Mysetf, and Firefighter Kobza excavated the inlerior of lhe storage shed. We found what appeared to be two bicyctes, a beach umbretta, two 1 gatton painl cans and a citronella tike type torch. Atso found were several tubes ot cautk and various gardening tools. NoLhing electricaI found inside storage coniainer. Attwiring was intact inside the watl. Outtets inside home intact per the etectricat inspector no sign oF any eteclricaI problems. No olher potenLiaI source oF heat Found within the storage container. I interviewed the residents of 1 l F; Andrea Tridico (508-367-9555), her boyrriend Antonio Defreitas (508-367-4338) and son Kyte Defreitas (9 years old). Ms. Tridico reported that the famity had been away for the weekend and returned Sunday night at approximatety 5 pm. She said the famity went to bed at approximatety 9:30 pm.
