My husband and I bought the property primarily because of the quiet neighborhood and its family atmosphere. Last week I received a letter informing me that one of my neighbors is planning on replacing her house. I have seen a picture of the proposed new house and wish I had the opportunity to discuss the design with that neighbor before the plan had been submitted to the Zoning Board. I've always had a nice relationship with Pat, and I appreciate the fact that her son is attempting to help her, but I believe razing her house and replacing it with a dwelling which is inappropriate for the neighborhood is not helping her, especially since Pat will be displaced during this whole process. I wish I could have let Pat know about my concerns. A review of the house proposed which would replace the current dwelling at 28 Little Dipper Lane shows that it is way too large for our neighborhood and it would overshadow all the surrounding houses. The included rooftop widow's walk would eliminate privacy for all the neighbors, not just those directly abutting the property. I want to join the rest of my neighbors to bring this problem to the attention of the zoning board and would attend your next meeting to speak, except I have a prior appointment which can't be rescheduled and am writing this letter instead. I respectfully request that you not approve the design that was submitted. Sincerely, Barbara LeClair 21 Little Dipper Lane Yarmouth, MA 02664
