Narrative: Dispalched lo a report of a structure fire at 154 Center st. E42 arrived on tocation with nothing
showing. Lt. Moriarty was on location and directed us to a small 20x20 detached apartment with
approx. 50% invotvement. Lt Moriarty assumed command and E42 deployed an 1 3/4" handline afld
went in to tire attack mode. E42 noticed visibte fire on the bravo side of the structure near the service
drop. E42 initialed fire altack through a compromised door on side A. E42 exEinguished the fire and
began the substantiaI overhaul process. Once the fire was deemed out E42 cteaned up equipmeni and
cteared OOS until gear and equipment were deconned and put back in service.

to the scene as the crews were cteaning up, stitl tooking tor hot spots. I requested
rical inspector, Ken Elliot. Power had been secured at the house drop by eversource. I
e to Wittiam (Bilt) Taytor who states he occupies the cottage #4 that was on fire today. He
d left the cottage to go !o gotf course around 1 ] am ioday and he does not recall any
apptiances being [eft on, no odd electricaI issues this morning. His day was normaI and no
ditrerent activities of daity tiving. my photos were [imited due to not having my normaI work
camera avaitable to me. The origin oF the tire was the Ay'D corner of the cottage. Mutliple
potentiat ignition sources were in the area of origin. Hot Water heater was in cabinet with
microwave and coffee maker on lop. The electricaI inspector could not ctearty identify any wiring
that may have contributed lo lhe ignalion source. lt was hard to determine whether the burning
at the sitt ptate below the Fire, outside was From drop burning or some type of ignition source
oulside. Theretore the cause is undetermined and not considered suspicious in nature.
Mark trom cotlage #1 was the person who reporied the fire, I did not get an opportunily to
speak with Mark. The buitding owner arrived as i was tinishing. Oavid Hott (508-568-8132) David
reports no Tecent renovations to Cottage #4. The electricaI inspeclor was going to check his
records for permits, as he does not recattever inspecting the cottage #4 for any etectricat
upgrades.
