The request is for the system to be three feet above the water table, as opposed to the four feet that is required by the regulations of the Town of Yarmouth. We have discussed the matter with Howard Spurr, our Inspector as well as the representatives from Whitman and Howard, Charles Hattaway and James McDonough. They, along with Morris Johnson, our Natural Resources Officer, and John Newton, our Engineer, do recommend two test wells on either end of the field, to be monitored as required. This is a temporary variance only, but an extension may be granted subject to test ground well quality data. This variance is granted subject to written approval of the State Board of Health.
