In response to your request,Coastal Engineering Co.,Inc.has performed a review of record
information pertaining to the on-site sewage deposal systems at the Blue Water Resort complex.
Tree complex is presently served by she sewage disposal',items fire of the six systems were
designed anW r condltltmed by Massachusetts Department of Public Health permits to conform In
general whit'the requirements of Title V: the Massectiusvus Stele environments}Cede for
subatrea%disposal of sashay sewage. Specific design information on the sixth system that
presently serves hvo units of the building situated In the northeast portion of the site could not be
found. Based upon the oenitguration of the system shown one Seri dated May 18,1989,from Down
Cape Enrimeerkp,are theoretical leaching capacity merle the Tile V flow requirements of the two
rooms served.
The following is a description of the systems based on a compilation of record information.
1. The design plans for Systems 1 end 2 went prepared by Everett Hinckley and oohed September
1979. Each system oonalste of a 2250-galan septic tank and a leaching field with 1820 square
feet. The leeching facilities were Installed to replace a facdty constructed in 19T0t. The
theoretical flow capacity of the two teaming fealties is 3240 gallons per day.
2. ityatem 3 was reconstructed in 1078 based upon design piens prepared by Dawn Cape
Enginesrtg dat.dAprfl 19,1976. Based upon the puns and Manchu/Ma Department of
Pubic dearth conditions,the system ranaists of a 3000-gallon septic tank and a 32.4-foot by 87-
foot leaching facility. The theoretical flow capacity of the System 3 leaching fatally is 2170
gaibns per dry.
3. Syktem 4 was reconstructed es a repair in 1989. Based upon design and as-bud plans prepared
by Down Cape Engineering dated May 18 and June 15,1969,respectively,the installation
ufd'¢ed the existing 3000-ga lon septic tank and a new leeching facility with a bottom ores of
1420i square feet. The theoretical flow capacity of the System 4 teaching facility is 1420 gallons
per day.
