Enclosed please find the following information concerning the Application for Approval
to Construct a Sewage Disposal System to serve the existing patio club building and a
proposed addition to the building at the Blue Water Resort.
1. Two (2) completed Applications for Disposal Works Construction Permits.
2. Six (6) copies of a sketch plan for a sewage disposal system to serve the
facility referenced above.
3. One (1) check for the required filing fee.
4. C)ne (1) set of floor plans for the existing building and proposed addition.
The design and sketch plan was prepared based upon information provided by DeWitt
Davenport in regards to a meeting between Mr. Davenport and yourself.

The following is a description of the systems based on a compilation of record information.
1. The design plans for Systems 1 and 2 were pmpared by Everett Hine► and dtktod September
ITV. Each system conalate cf a --gallon septic tank and a leaching field with 182.0 squ ra
feet The leaching flea were lnata! 1e# to replace a facie constnzated in 1971a. The
theoretical flow ca.pecity of the two leasing facilities is 3240 gags per day_
2 System 3 wet reconstrucied in it re based upon claRign plans prom/rad by Down Cape
Engineering dstsd A 191 1975, Bate upon the piano and Massacluseette Department of

art leaching facility. The theoretical flow catty of the System 3 leaching facility is VW

3. SYIrtem 4 was reCofistrucled as a repair in 19$9, Based upon design and ash plans prepared
by Down. Cape Engines tad May le and Jar 15, lea respectively, the installartion
utilized the a cistng 0-fin septic teak and a new leaching facility with a bottom area of
1-4 are f . The theoretical flew tapedity of the stem 4 leeching facility is 1420. gam
per day.

4, System 5 consists of one 8000galon septic tank,a pump chamber,and two teething facilites
with 2700 square feet of bottom area each. The pump chamber and leaching faclitiles were
installed based upon design peens prepared by Charles D. Spahr in May of 1970. The the
cor hotted low capacity of the leeching facilities Is 5400 gallons per day,
6. Record design plans for System 6 could not be found. Based upon the system configuration
shunt on a plan dated March 16,1 ,by Down Cape Engineering,the system,deists of a
septic tank aid 20I-foot by 28-toot leading facility with an estimated capacity of 580 gallons per
day.
The E1ueA War Resort presently consists of three Wilding*that include Si get roiorns, a 13e- c t
elietsureet,and a 40-seat lounge. The estimated TIN V sewage flow for the present facility is 14,540
galena per day. The proposed redevelopment of the site Includes reducing the number of seats in
the restaurant by 30,which would reduce the estimated Tide V sewage flow to 13,490 gallons per
loran.
The estimated total capacity or the leeching facilities that presently serve the oos ptex is 12,97e
gallons per day,or 94.ett of the estimated reduced sanitary flow, Area is available for the future
upgrade of the systerns In a 20,E-ire NO,reserve area located on the r000rt property+art t o
start side of South Shore Drive as designated in 1970 by the Massachusetts Depacrtmen+t of Public
llesfth. Additional reserve area will be available on Edge of the Sea Motet land to be conveyed to
le le resort.
A sail percolation rate of 2 minutes per inch was used in the review cif the system plane based Mean
record soil tests performed an the project*its are,ether proeorties in the area,
eased upon our review of record information, Systems 1,2, 3 and 5 were designed or conditioned ter
permit to pro ides a minimum of four feet separation between the bettOrn of the leaching fecillty and
groundwateNr, As-bui*plans far System 4 indicate a 3.05-foot groundwater separation is provided.
