Chase & Merchant trailer stabilizer hydraulic cylinder oil seal failed when excavator was driven onto trailer without the locking
pin in place. Chase & Merchant estimated the release of oil to be one quart. They applied sand to the spill which they later swept up and removed. The onsite conditions appeared consistent
with the incident described.
