The required number of Toilet facilities is covered under the plumbing and/or building code, which
also would review handicap needs and unisex requirements.
I have informed Jim that No food can be prepared within the kitchen and 1 wouid recommend no
liquor be allowed until the toilet facilities are completed. I also mentioned a lock was need on the
downstairs bathroom door.
Yesterday afternoon I asked Jim Armentrout to obtain a cost for a temporary toilet trailer, which
would include running hot water and flush toilets. We plan to meet on Monday to discuss along
with a date the toilet facilities would be completed.
I would recommend we all meet on Monday or Tuesday, inciuding building and plumbing
inspectors to discuss the above.
(I believe the plumbing inspector is off until Tuesday)

Subject: Bass River bathrooms
Bruce,
Niall Hopkins called this aftemoon alleging, and I quote: "You (the Town) are violating every
health code in the state of Massachuselts." His concern centers around the provision of
bathrooms at the Bass River Golf Course. He indicated he had contacted a state health agency
as well.
I understand you may have looked into the matter. Could you please let us know your thoughts as
to what additional measures may need to be taken so that the Town can continue to operate the
golf course while the permanent accessible bathroom facilities are temporarily out of service? We
do not have a definite timeframe for completing the bathroom work but it could be over a month
before the work is completed. As you may know, we now have in place a permanent unisex
bathroom on the bwer level of the clubhouse and portable facilities adjacent to the permanent
bathrooms which are temporarily closed. In addition, there are portable toilets on the golf course
as is the customary practice.
Thank you,
Peter
