RE: Bass River Golf Clubhouse Structure
DATE: Apri12, 2010
Regarding our recent discussion regarding recommendafions or requirements to sprinkler the Bass River
Golf Course Clubhouse, I have reviewed our files and find no notes or documents that indicate any
recommendafion to sprinkler the building.
There is an alcohol license in the building and that would have in the recent past triggered a review of the
use to determine whether it was in the "nightclub" sprinkler required category under Chapter 304. This would
certainly on have been a formality if listed as the use and occupancy do not approach the criteria for the
nightclub desiation under that law.
Lastly, it is the mission of our fire prevention division to suggest any and all upgrades to systems in
buildings to provide for the highest and best level of protection for its patrons. In the case of this particular
structure and in consideration of age, type of construction and usage, there would be little or no logic to
suggesting that sprinklers be installed except if they were required by a specific provision by one of our codes. I
do not find any such provision in any of the fire prevention codes.
Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance in this matter.
