Patrick Brazil,27,was arrested Sunday at Bass River Motel on Route 28 by officers from those three towns after police connected him through video surveillance from the robberies and video from transadions using a credit rard stolen from a home in Dennis on March 28,according to a police narrative filed in Barnstable District Court. Brazil pleaded not guilty Monday to three counts of armed robbery while masked and one count of possession of Suboxone,according to court filings. He was ordered held on$25,000 cash bail. Police had been investigating robberies March 29 and March 31 at lwo Hess convenience stores in West Yarmouth; a robbery March 30 at Cash Market in Marstons Mills;and a robbery March 31 at the Mobil station at the Mashpee Rotary. In all four cases the robber used a knife and was described as a white man with a beard. Brazil was arrested at the motel on an outstanding warrant for receiving stolen properry, according to police. His girlfriend,Jelissa Henderson,was also found at the motel and arrested on two outstanding warrants for receiving stolen property and shoplifting. Henderson told police ihat during the robberies she had waited in a Subaru Forester driven to and from the stores by another man,according to the police reports. In addition, she said Brazil was responsible for a break-in at a Dennis movie theater as well as several car break-ins in Falmouth. "Henderson also said that Patrick had dyed and cut his hair and shaved his beard in an effort to avoid detedion by the police,"Yarmouth police Detective Eric Nuss wrote in his report. Brazil confessed to the four robberies as well as a theft that occurred at the Dennis movie theater, according to the report. Brazil is scheduled to appear in court again April 23.
