George:
Pat Armstrong came to me on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 to report mold in the SmugglePs Beach
Building. While the presence of the mold is within the jurisdiction of the Health Dept. the cause may be
within the Building Dept.
Based on PaYs concems I inspected the building yesterday afternoon, Wednesday September 9. My
observations and comments are as follows:
1. Mold growth on the restrooms and storage area ceilings.
2. We could not access the concession side of the building
 3. The hydrostaHc vents have been sealed with piywood
, 4. The soffit vents on the north east side have been sealed with plywood
5. While it appears the exhaust vents in the restrooms are operational, the CFM's required to
i evacuate the moisture may not be adequate.
I The plywood on the flood vents and the soffds should be removed. I suspect there were reasons for
blocking these vents and we can discuss those to see if we can come up with altemative mitigating
measures.
