Dear Board Members,
Cape Cod Fine Finishes LLC is a painting company operating on the Cape.
With our application to the Board we are seeking to get exemption and expand our existing
services, by providing quality off the jobsite, spray finish for specific architectural elements
(such as moldings, columns, panels, etc.)
We are currently looking to rent a commercial condo at 583 Forest Rd (A)
While we will be parking our vehicles and storing staging, ladders and other equipment,
in the said unit we would also like to install a clean (spray) room which will help us achieve the
high level of finish demanded by some of our customers.
With the understanding that we will be located in the Town's aquafer overlay district which
provides drinking water for Yarmouth residents, we are planning to employ a set of business
practices that help us in our current operations to keep a clean job site while protecting the
environment. Below are some of the precautions we are taking and plan to adapt for the rented
space.
- We are using state compliant low VOC water -based paints which are non-flammable and
don't emit fumes.
- Residual water from washing of equipment is contained in 5 gallon buckets with lids to
which we add mortar and once the liquids turn solid we dispose properly at the dump.
- All unused paints are left with our customers, eliminating the need for storage and
handling of large amounts of paint.
In addition, all of our shop operations will be conducted inside which will prevent any
potential noise from escaping outside of building. ,
For the clean room we are planning to have filtration system which will capture residual
overspray so it's not released into the open air.
With the above in mind, we believe we will not be detrimental to the neighborhood and ask
for permission to house our shop operations in the Town of Yarmouth.
